Looking in the mirror and spotting thinning hair can be pretty distressing!
Fortunately, for most causes of thinning, SMP can provide near full coverage which gives the appearance of thick, full hair.
What is a hair thickening treatment?
Hair thickening treatments in practice, are the same as our shaved head procedures.
The primary difference being, the existing hair is not shaved off, and the impressions are placed between the follicles of the thinning hair areas, giving the appearance of thicker, fuller hair.
The contrast between your skin tone and hair follicles is adjusted by the pigment and effectively disguises hair loss.
How do we perform the treatment?
Treatments are usually split into three sessions
1. Session one is always a little lighter in coverage.
The reason for this is it gives us an opportunity to see how well your skin accepts the ink. This is the foundation of your treatment and for men getting hair thickening, coverage is around 20-40%.
2. In session two we assess the first session's results, and make any necessary adjustments to the pigment. Now we really see the final look coming together. We work between the dots of the first session adding fullness to the overall look.
3. Session three is the final stage.
The final touches are applied to give a natural, flawless look, and finalise your treatment.
If for any reason an addition session is required, we perform this at no extra charge.

Am i a candidate?
Hair thickening can be an amazing solution for thinning hair, creating a thick, uniform appearance. With that in mind; hair thickening is not for everyone.
Depending on the level of hair loss, Hair thickening may not be an appropriate option.
If there are large areas with no hair, or the hair is exceedingly thin and cannot cover the SMP sufficiently, the results will not look natural, and instead the shaved head SMP solution may be a better option.
During a consultation, your artist will asses your current level of hair loss and go over this with you.
