SMP for Alopecia

Alopecia can cause unpredictable hair loss, but SMP offers a reliable solution.

Long-lasting, non-invasive, and confidence-boosting, SMP helps you take back control of your look

What is SMP for alopecia?

Alopecia can cause unpredictable and often distressing hair loss, whether in small patches (Alopecia Areata), total scalp hair loss (Alopecia Totalis), or complete body hair loss (Alopecia Universalis). Unlike temporary treatments or medications, Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) provides a long-term, non-invasive solution by replicating the look of natural hair follicles.

SMP works by carefully depositing pigment into the scalp, creating the illusion of fuller, natural-looking hair density or a closely shaved buzz-cut appearance. This technique is fully customizable, ensuring the results blend seamlessly with your skin tone and any existing hair.

With no surgery, no downtime, and immediate visible results, SMP is a practical and effective choice for those looking to restore the appearance of a full head of hair. Whether you’re experiencing early signs of alopecia or have lived with it for years, SMP can help you regain confidence and control over your look.

How do we perform the treatment?

Treatments are usually split into three sessions

Alopecia_edited.jpg

1. Session one is always a little lighter in coverage.

The reason for this is it gives us an opportunity to see how well your skin accepts the ink. This is the foundation of your treatment and for men getting the buzz cut, the basic look is outlined.

2. In session two we assess the first session's results, and make any necessary adjustments to the pigment. Now we really see the final look coming together. we work between the dots of the first session adding fullness to the overall look.

3. Session three is the final stage.

The final touches are applied to give a natural, flawless look, and finalise your treatment.

If for any reason an addition session is required, we perform this at no extra charge.

Inkle is dedicated to working with you to achieve an optimal result.

What is alopecia?

Alopecia is an umbrella term which covers many different types of hair loss.

The most common form of alopecia is androgenetic alopecia, aka: Male pattern baldness.

This type of hair loss is what you get when someone with a genetic predisposition towards pattern baldness experiences the reaction that occurs when enzyme Type II 5-alpha reductase and testosterone contact at the follicle. The result, the 5-alpha converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) This is what triggers the hair loss.
